We were browsing through the websites of some of the provinces of the Cagayan Valley and stumbled across the 2017 Grand Ammungan Festival Activities & Schedule. There are a couple of events and activities slated for this Festival.

The Grand Ammungan Festival will be held on May 22-24 and it is meant to celebrate the cultural practices and traditions of the province.
The expected highlights of the festival include:
- Cultural Day: Panagpasangbay 2017
- Agro-Industrial FAir
- Partuat ken Patanur 2017
- Laro ng Lahi
- 3rd Ragragsak ti Sangka-ilian 2017
- 1st Literatura Ilokano ti Nueva Vizcaya
- The Voice of Nueva Vizcaya Season 2
- NV Got Talent Season 4
- Paddek ken Samiweng iti Daldalan (Street Dancing Competition)
There will also be a Search for Bayabay ken Saniata ti Nueva Vizcaya, as well as other activities such as Medical and Dental Mission, Special Children’s Day, Nueva Vizcaya Fun Day, Musical Pyrotechnics Display, Senior Citizens’ Day, and Job Fair among others.
A news report written by Chriezel Calimag states that 15 Acts qualified for the Nueva Vizcaya Got Talent competition.
Out of 80 aspiring artists, only 15 were chosen as finalist in the fourth season of Nueva Vizcaya’s Got Talent (NVGT) during the semi-final round held last May 6 at the People’s Stage.
The NVGT started in 2014 during the administration of Governor Ruth R. Padilla, which aims to involve youth in the celebration and showcase Vizcayano talents as Padilla wanted to include all sectors of the community in celebrating the Ammungan Festival.
The said activity is headed by former Board Member Emerlene Jane Galanta, who, together with the judges headed by Provincial Administrator Maybelle Sevillena visited 9 municipalities to discover talents from every corner of the province.
Among the successful finalists include the one size fits all dance crew, AM3 crew, Reckon dance crew, Speakerman, St. Vincent Band, The Frost, Aljon Dave Dario, KC, Isolation Dancer, Allison, VIP Family, Cliff Jane Uy, Mark Crisologo, Liam Aquino and Lepting Sisters.
The final battle will be held on May 23 at the PLGU Convention and Sports Center.
There will also be a Province-wide Search for Outstanding Elders.
The Provincial Social Welfare and Development Office (PSWDO) headed by PSWD officer Lita Tabudlo conducted an evaluation, for the provincewide Search for Pagwadan a Lolo ken Lola which is part of the celebration of the 9th Ammungan Festival 2017.
According to Tabudlo, there were 21 participants from 13 municipalities in the province. The oldest participant hails from the municipality of Bagabag, 92 years old and Bayombong, 90 years old.
Criteria for the said search include an outstanding family background, community involvement and projects initiated. Reckoning year of all accomplishments must start upon reaching the age of 60.
Winners will receive P15, 000 each and a consolation prize of P2, 500 each. Announcement and awarding of winners will be on May 22 at the PLGU Convention Center.
